Carbon-sulfur crucible
Carbon–sulfur crucibles are proprietary consumables designed for use with infrared high‑frequency carbon–sulfur analyzers. They are specifically engineered to withstand high‑temperature combustion of steel and ore samples, enabling the accurate determination of carbon and sulfur content in materials. Tangshan is one of China’s major production hubs for these crucibles, which are widely exported as high‑volume industrial products for steel mill analytical applications.

Product introduction
Carbon–sulfur crucibles are proprietary consumables designed specifically for infrared high-frequency carbon–sulfur analyzers. They are used to hold steel and ore samples during high‑temperature combustion, enabling the determination of carbon and sulfur content in the material. Tangshan is one of China’s major production hubs for these crucibles, which are a high‑volume export item widely employed in steel mill laboratory testing.
Appearance and Structure
Standard cylindrical, low-profile design; most models feature a flat bottom, while some include a small locating boss to ensure secure seating in the induction coil station of a high-frequency furnace. The vast majority are supplied without a matching lid.
Work logic
Steel and ore samples are placed in a crucible, to which tungsten granules and a pure iron flux are added. The crucible is then positioned in a high-frequency induction furnace, where high-purity oxygen is introduced. At elevated temperatures, the samples undergo complete combustion: carbon in the sample is converted to carbon dioxide, and sulfur is oxidized to sulfur dioxide. The resulting gases are directed into an infrared detection cell, enabling quantitative elemental analysis.
